\i'm here, i'm alive, it's amazing. the relationship we're helping to build with the pastor and his church here is really good and i can't wait till i get back home to write about the stories from the dominican. we're almost halfway through the work here, but the internet here is not looking too well. the stories and pictures will have to wait till i get back. i miss you guys and thanks a ton for the support. God is moving here! i will write when i get back, until then, know that i'm alive and well and everything is going just fine. God bless!

Here We Go

Ready, set, go! I’m leaving tomorrow night after work for the Dominican Republic, and I’m thoroughly excited about it. Thank you to everyone that helped support me on this trip, both in prayers and donations, I came in just short of my goal, but the remainder I had already paid back in October. Now all that’s left to do is pack my bags and get some sleep! Tomorrow I’ll be working in about 18 degree weather (according to Yahoo!), but hopefully Tuesday I’ll be working in about 90 degree weather!

I’m not sure if I’ll have internet while I’m over there, so there may or may not be some updates on the blog during the next week and a half. If not, have no fear, I’ll be posting the stories on the trip based on the journal/notes I’ll be taking while I’m there, and I’ll also be posting some pictures.

I’m really excited to see what work is being done over there for God and also excited to share that with you guys. Please keep a couple things in your thoughts/prayers:

*A servant heart for me and the other 3 guys going. We’re not going all the way over there just to work for ourselves!

*Patience on our part. I know for a fact that working across cultures can prove to be frustrating at times to say the least.

*Pray for the people there, that they would open their hearts to us for some great fellowship and bonding.

*Pray that the work we do there is the kind of work that lasts and blesses the people in that community for many years.

*And finally, Pray I don’t get malaria! I’ve opted out of the pills (much to do with my lack of insurance that would cover them…assuming I had insurance to begin with) but I did manage to pick up some sweet travel health insurance for the trip. I call it sweet because it only cost me $9 for the week! As I write this I can’t help but think that maybe you could just pray for my health in general while I’m there…thanks.

Well, that’s it, I’m off to see what the deal is over there. I hope to be sharing with you guys soon and if I don’t get to send you guys any messages during the trip, I’ll see you when I make it back! Thanks again, you guys truly are the reason I can make this trip!
